Upcoming Opportunities to Share Your Thoughts

Kitchen Table Discussions

Kitchen Table Discussions are a fun and relaxing way to share your big ideas and bold dreams for Pemberton. We invite everyone who is interested to drop by the Village Office or the Pemberton and District Community Centre to pick up an easy-to-follow guide that will get you and a group of your friends, family, neighbours etc. talking about issues that are important to you and your community.

Each discussion requires a host - someone who will help guide the conversation and record feedback. Hosts may choose to invite participants into their homes or arrange to meet at a local café or restaurant. The discussions are designed for groups of 8-10 people and to be 1.5-2 hours in length, but as we said, they are meant to be fun and flexible so share what you can.

Kitchen Table Discussion Packages will be available for pick-up beginning from:

January 16, 2023, at the Village Office and Pemberton and District Community Centre.

Community Open House - March 6, 2023 at 4:30pm-7:30pm

The Village of Pemberton will be hosting a Community Open House on March 6, 2023 at the Pemberton and District Community Centre. The open house will include a 20-minute presentation by the Village’s planning consultants at 5:00pm with small group discussions to follow. Presentation boards (with interactive activities) will be on display throughout the evening for those who can drop by for a short time only.

The Community Open House will be a family-friendly event. There will be age-appropriate activities for youth to engage in. Babysitting will not be provided.

We invite everyone to get involved!

We welcome all feedback.

We will report back what we heard and keep you informed throughout the process.

In July 2022, the Village of Pemberton launched a two-year planning process to draft a new Official Community Plan (OCP) for the community. The Village’s existing OCP was adopted in 2011 and much has changed within the community and the surrounding area since that time.

The OCP Review is a strategic priority of Council. The new OCP will guide growth and development to 2050. The OCP Review is an opportunity to strengthen the Village’s relationship with Lil’wat Nation and to advance truth and reconciliation within the community. The OCP Review will build on other municipal and regional planning initiatives including, but not limited to, the Community Climate Action Plan, Pemberton Valley Recreation Trails Master Plan, and the Age-Friendly Affordable Housing Action Plan.

Phase 1 of the public engagement process will launch in January 2023 (after the fall election and busy holiday season). Check the webpage regularly for updates and look for opportunities throughout the community to share your thoughts.

We invite everyone to get involved!
